This is some of the equipment used in my photoshoot, i have included a camera, the lighting and the screen which was placed behind the models used in my photoshoot. These are the main equipment used and were used everytime i took a picture so these are quite crucial when taking my photos.

Codes & Conventions ALL music magazines have a main image on the front cover, this contains a Zeitgeist (The defining spirit or mood of a particular period of history as shown by the ideas and beliefs of the time.) this means that its mainly current artists that are shown on the front page. In well known magazines there will be promotional offers such as free stuff, which could include relevant things to the genre of the music that the magazine refers to, for example; tour dates, free CDs and posters of artists. there are also online interactive things such as a code in the magazine could get you exclusive material on the website. Another form of indirect advertisement would be if a band or record lable sent a preview for the audience to listen to to get a review, this is indirect as the magazine wasnt payed by the artist to do the review they get the money from the fan base of the artist that will buy the issue for the infomation about the new album or single. Typically in a music magazine there will be an interview with a current artist that for some reason is now being the main focus of a magazine or particular article, most of the time this will be a double page spread if it's the main talked about thing at the time in current music news. Lists are a very common thing to see in a magazine this could be offical like UK Top 40 or made up by the magazine like "100 top romantic songs" which are the magazines perspective of the songs.

For my image ideas i chose to do this on prezi as prezi is alot easier to show what i want to show for my image ideas. in my image ideas i have shown a formally dressed man and a very informally dressed man as in my front cover i want to show the same person but oppositley dressed.

Mood Board

This is my mood board which is a mixture of images which i want to be similar to my magazine images, the main type of images i have are formal/informal, technology/traditional sounds.

For my mood board i wanted to express the type of images i want to use for my actual magazine and what type of images i am interested in, alot of my images i have chosen are fairly opposite in the music industry. foir example technology against classical etc.

 First lesson

    When going around the school to take my pictures for my magazine cover and contents page, I had a structure in my mind that I would take pictures of students that are physically similar to the props assigned to them as this would give of the most convincing look to the images, I also wanted a large amount of scenery shots as these pictures will be used in the contents page mainly as the contents page usually consist of a few images to exemplify what each (if not each then some) of what the short description and page number is about.

    When deciding my images for the contents, I decided what images to use after I took all my images as I didn’t have a main idea unlike what I had for my cover page, as the images used in the contents could have been of mainly anything, I still kept it to relate to the text informing the reader of what pages to go to. Using the images as an illustration for the text helps the reader understand what the page numbers/text is about.

Front Cover   

    When doing my front cover page, both finding the pictures and editing the cover as a whole was already thought out, I had a main idea of what I wanted to do. Having one of my main images as one of the biggest pictures at the top of the cover page, as it would attract the readers eye to it the most and therefore be intrigued as to what it is about. I also decided to add another large image at the bottom, the same size as my promoting image which was also to get the readers eye. The image was of the Olympic flag and from this picture I related some of the headlines to that as it is also one of the main attractions and interets of readers at the moment.
